Mr Garrett's aims are to rid his patients of pain as quickly as possible and enable them to return to their normal activities. He implements the latest techniques and only uses the best implants. He also now offers Robotic-assisted Total Knee and Hip Replacements which have been proven to offer faster recovery with less postoperative pain. He specialises in Hip & Knee surgery and carries out all aspects of hip surgery. His sub-speciality interest is in Hip Arthroscopy (keyhole hip surgery).

Mr Simon Garrett graduated from Southampton Medical School in 1998, completing both his basic and higher orthopaedic surgical training in the Wessex region. After Specialist Registrar training, he undertook two specialist Hip & Knee Arthroplasty fellowships in Perth, Western Australia in 2008/9. This was under the supervision of Prof David Wood and Prof Piers Yates.

 

Mr Garrett was appointed as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant at Dorset County Hospital in 2010, where he specialised in hip and knee surgery. He carries out all aspects of hip and knee surgery treating a number of conditions as listed below. He is one of the few surgeons in the area that performs advanced techniques in Hip Arthroscopy (keyhole hip surgery) including labral repair.

Patients can see Mr Garrett for Private Practice at The BMI Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester, The BMI Harbour Hospital in Poole and The Nuffield Hospital in Bournemouth.

He is BUPA + AXA PPP fee Assured and recognised by all private health insurers. Patients who wish to self-fund their treatments privately do not need a GP referral prior to an appointment and fixed-price packages are available. Finance packages can be provided by the hospitals if required. Mr Garrett is also part of the British Hip Society which is an external body that shares orthopaedic knowledge and improvements surrounding patient care.
